Ever since I can remember, I have loved to sing. Like most children, I would sing along to my records in my room. Then when I was nine years old, my dad arrived home with a brand new album called ‘Guilty’ by Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb. I was hooked, I fell in love with that album, and I desperately wanted to sing those songs. That’s when I realized that singing was “my thing”, that’s what I want to do.

I joined my first band ‘One For The Road’ aged 16. In 2005, I began performing on a more regular basis, appearing at local folk clubs with folk band ‘Odd Folk’, then joining ‘Clancy’s Shed Band’ a rock ‘n’ roll band from Nottinghamshire.

I have appeared as a guest with heavy rock band ‘Toxic Federation’, jazz quartet ‘Djongology’, and in 2010 I was included in the line up with the popular 1960’s Nottingham band the ‘Beatmen’.

From 2010 until 2014, I was lead vocalist with my band ‘Reflections’, who played a variety of music including rock, pop, blues, jazz, rock ’n’ roll and country.

Since November 2010 I have been writing and recording songs with friend and ‘Reflections’ guitarist Nigel Smith (from ‘Andwella’s Dream’ CBS Records). We have a great working relationship and have written many songs together.

In March 2015 I joined classic rock band ‘Dead and Buried’.

Keith Gotheridge

Keith our drummer (aka Nosmo King) is also the drummer with the Darts, a chart band which will be well known to those of us who were around in the 70’s and 80’s. Before that, Keith played in Plummet Airlines, which toured extensively in the Midlands, and could be seen at the top of many a wallposter.

Pete Ellis

Pete is a founder member of Dead and Buried, and provides the driving bass lines for which the group is renowned. Pete was also a touring sound engineer with many 70’s and 80’s bands, including Def Leppard, the Undertones, and Chas and Dave.

Andy Lord

All-round multi-instrumentalist and general business guru, Andy is another founder member of the band, and also currently our manager. Andy was in a couple of bands after Dead and Buried split in 1971 and also developed a thriving sound hire business at that time.

John Clegg

Our lead guitarist and third founder member. John has also played in Sheffield band Scarecrow in 1972-74; briefly in 1979 a Nottingham band with Paul Joyce (who wrote Bob the Builder); Black Velvet a Nottingham cabaret band in 1994, plus their rock alter ego; and played 26 UK dates in 2006 with country rockers Lazy Dog.

Previous Band members

Jan Hathaway

Jan joined the band in 2014 and shared vocal duties with Sarah. Jan sings at folk clubs in her home patch of Dudley and oftimes plays an exotic drum.

Gren Ash

Gren was drummer with the band from its reformation in 2014 to mid 2015. DeadAndBuried have been mates with Gren for years though, and both Pete and John were in bands with Gren back in the early 70’s.

Ants Derrick

Our original keyboard player and founder member, Ants was keen to join the reformed group but, quite reasonably, was finding the commute to practises from Devon to Derbyshire too much. We hope to play a few dates down there sometime, and have Ants guest on keyboards!

Tim Marshall

Our original drummer and founder member.
